What
may cause asthma?
- Inhaled
allergens such as house dust mites, animal dander,
pollen, grasses, mould spores;
- Irritant
gases, ie cigarette smoke;
- Ingested
allergens: Studies (see references) have indicated
that food allergies play an important role in asthma
and hayfever (the main culprits include dairy,
wheat, eggs, yeast, chololate, nuts and fish), drugs
(most common are penicillin and other antibiotics,
aspirin and certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs), additives, colourings (E102 tartazine is very
common in children), preservatives such as the benzoates
E210219 and metabisulphites E220227, yeast
and moulds on food, household chemicals;
- Temperature
changes (especially cold weather which constrict the
bronchioles);
- Emotional
stress. >>>
