How
to best deal with asthma
Large
numbers of children suffering from asthma use steroid-free
"puffers" which open up the airways. Some
include steroids and there is a growing concern among
scientists about their use because inhaled steroid drugs
may stunt childhood growth.
- Establish
(through blood tests, kinesiology) and avoid all known
allergens
- Is
your child getting all the nutrients they need? Eat
a high vitality diet including lots of fresh fruit,
vegetables and wholegrains to nourish the immune system
(see article on Immunity under Nutrition Facts). Concentrate
on beta-carotene rich foods (carrots, peppers, tomatoes,
spinach, parsley, sweet potatoes, broccoli, pumpkin)
to strengthen mucous membranes.
- Eat
foods rich in Quercitin, a powerful, natural antihistamine
found in onions, garlic, and broccoli.
- Avoid
emotional stress.
