Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD – what is behind this ever growing phenomenon amongst children?

The child in question can’t sit still, eats poorly, talks back, refuses to cooperate, won’t and can’t concentrate, gets into fights, cries a lot, has bad temper tantrums, is constantly on the move, is often clumsy or accident prone, sleeps little, gets into trouble, interrupts frequently, and breaks his toys.

For the management of ADHD, doctors often prescribe drugs such as Ritalin which act on the central nervous system in a similar way to cocaine and has marked potential for addictive abuse and severe side effects such as insomnia, stomach pains, growth retardation, depression, and compulsive behaviour (Breggin, 1999).

Nutritional therapy has proved very helpful for many hyperactive children and offers a safe and intelligent alternative to drugs. >>>
